David Bercott – The Third Generation.
Sydney’s son David started working in the Glasgow shop in 1977. While working in the shop David Studied diamonds and qualified in retail jewellery and Gemmology. David worked and ran the Glasgow shop alongside his family until the shops were sold in 1998.

In 1998 David made the decision that instead of competing against other jewellery shops he would sell to them. He started selling loose diamonds and precious stones to the retail trade and soon expanded into unusual settings.

Manufacturing
Manufacturing As the company grew David decided to start manufacturing himself i.e. making the whole piece of jewellery, this meant employing staff for an in-house jewellery workshop.

First Range Of Diamond Rings
Until this point most wedding rings in the UK were a plain or pattered band without diamonds. David decided to try something different and designed a wedding ring around a diamond eternity ring. Within 3 years the range was sold in approximately 600 stores around the UK and Ireland.

David decided to go back to his original routes of retailing in 2013, he decided not to open a fancy shop with lots of expensive stock and instead opened a showroom specialising in bespoke wedding rings and engagement rings where customers felt comfortable and relaxed walking into.

Max Bercott ~ The Fourth Generation
After studying at Strathclyde University and graduating with a degree in marketing and business law Max joined Bercotts to carry on the business for a fourth generation.

2019 saw us launch our new website. As well as having lots of information on the new website, we've also added hundreds of products. This means that our customers now have the convenience of being able to order online, in addition to being able to pop into the shop or giving us a call for a chat anytime.
